Kotoku Royals FC promoted to the Ghana Premier League as Champion 2022 Division One Zone 3.
The Oda based side, which will be the first indigenous team from the Eastern Region to be represented in the Ghana top flight since 2007, secured their top spot in the Zone 3 table after holding rivals Tema Youth to a 0:0 draw on the last game day of this season.
In a game full of action and drama, the Royals managed to hold on for 90 minutes, after missing out promising scoring opportunities for Augustine Boakye and Marfo Emmanuel early in the first half.
Going into the game, they needed Liberty Professionals to slip up in their away game at Susubiribi Sporting Club in case they were not able to secure the three points.
As the game between those teams also ended goalless, the Royals became the 100th team to play in the Ghana Premier League since 1956 and celebrations could go their way.
